As a platoon leader, he was responsible for the professional development of his SEAL team. Born in New Jersey and moved to Virginia Beach in grade school. He grew up in a chaotic home and enduring periods of homelessness. At seventeen he enlisted in the Navy.

Mike is an expert at intelligence gathering and tactical operations,including;open-and closed-water SCUBA, free-fall and static-line parachute, helicopter rope suspension techniques, breaching, small arms, and explosives.

On what would be his final combat mission as a Navy SEAL, Mike was shot at close range by four enemy fighters and absorbed a grenade blast. Despite being wounded, Mike was able to neutralize all four enemy combatants, secure two prisoners, rescue six women and children, and evacuate to an awaiting helicopter.

Born in the south to a history teacher father who became a Naval Officer and a loving Mother; I was uprooted to the far corners of the earth. Growing up with two younger sisters and a brother;  we traveled up and down the east coast.  I learned global diplomacy in the midst of my adolescence attending highschool in the middle-east with kids from across the globe.

Graduating from high school in San Diego I ran and surfed the shores where I would be tested beyond measure. Coming back to my roots in the south I attended Old Dominion University and lived with my grandparents, (Meme’ and Pepe’). The Bachelors in International Studies was helpful to understand where I had been and why the people and places were the way they were; but my time spent learning from my Meme’ and Pepe’ was the true education.

My life experiences and work ethic was honed through fifteen years of service in the SEAL Teams.  I served alongside my Brothers in the deepest darkest waters and hottest driest deserts. It was an amazing journey and I’ve had the profound blessing of working alongside some of the most talented, selfless, hard working men in our country. My Brothers give and give, and then give some more; never asking for anything in return.

In my years in the SEAL Teams I was in four platoons and one training command. Three of my platoons I carried the automatic weapons suite.  I patrolled, ran and climbed with my brothers through austere and violent lands.  Obstacles that could hardly be imagined, were put before us that we not only survived through, but thrived in!  That being said it was all worth for my Family, my Brothers and my Country.  So many have given much more.

Returning to the Family Fold was a significant challenge.  I stopped my time short to save my Family. For a time, I was the greatest threat. Returning to American society presented its challenges as well. What worked overseas for conflict resolution wouldn’t be tolerated in the US of A.  Kratos, Dale and Frog Dog K9 built a bridge to start to heal those wounds.  I owe more than a debt of gratitude for what Dale & Frog Dog K9 have done for myself & my family.

I've been very fortunate to do some work and Demonstrations with Frog Dog K9 in the last few years. Frog Dog K9 has raised funds, assistance, and awareness for veterans, Gold Star families & Spouses; as well as being responsible for the introduction of my current Service Dog: Alita, (Belgian Malinois that will be 3 in May, 2024). I was having problems obtaining a K9 from other sources during a very dark unpleasant moment of my life & am VERY grateful to have Alita now and to be a part of the Frog Dog K9 tribe. K9 therapy, the K9 Tribe, and the assistance of a service dog have all greatly improved my quality of life & helped me form a new respect for myself and what these dogs are capable of.
